I Came, I Saw, I Voted (Bloggers and Social Media Award)

Wow, time flies. Just a few weeks ago, I was still enjoying my year-end holidays. But, now 2012, when the world's suppose to end and all those crap, including the fact that it's my exam year (sigh) and am in the midst of my trials. That was fast, really fast.

Anyway, I started blogging about 5 months back, jotting down any thing interesting relating to tech, gadgets, events, but particularly on video games and basically some of what I see and what I hear. I didn't really expect much at first considering it was just a part-time thing when I'm bored, but wow I must say that I'm really, really surprised, and of course, thank you for all of those who read my blog. I really didn't expect that. :D

So where was I again? Oh yes, so I blog about video games, tech stuff, gadgets, events, bla bla bla..and yes, I'm going to hide my face, and hopefully, ask for 5 minutes of your time to vote for me.

I recently got nominated for a Bloggers and Social Media Award under 'Upcoming Blogger of the Year' and 'Best Gadget Blog' so I'm really, really hoping that you would spare some time to vote for me. Boleh? (:

It's pretty simple, just visit here and you will see www.theshadowgamer.com right in front (oh yeah!), click on vote, and ta-dah :D But...just hold on a minute there, before you go, drop me a comment on my facebook page here or tweet me through twitter here so I can know you better.

My many, many thanks!

Skyrim is 2011's Game of the Year while Portal 2 is the Biggest Winner

skyrim gets game of the year awards in spike vga 2011

Spike TV's annual Video Game Awards (VGA) has recently ended and the winners of 2011 have also been announced. Portal 2, as we know it, is indisputably one amazing, amazing game of puzzles and interesting challenges unique to others. True to its wonderful predecessor Portal, the second episode bounces away with the most awards, some including Best PC Game and Best Multiplayer. Batman: Arkham City, another big winner (surprisingly), takes away 4 titles including Best Action Adventure, Best Xbox 360, Best Adapted and The Joker as Character of the Year!

However, the ultimate winner who worthily earned the trophy of 2011's Game of the Year as well as Best RPG was none other than Skyrim. I understand that this award can be quite controversial as many believe that Portal 2 should be the one. Both games are perfectly accomplished and both equally deserve the title. However, Portal 2's campaign is, let's admit it, rather too short especially compared to Skyrim, which can easily be hooked on for days and weeks and months. That, I think is the main differential factor. I don't know, what do you think?

Also, what was surprising was that Battlefield 3 and Fifa 12, both from EA, didn't win anything at all! Wow, Fifa 12 was a wonderful enhancement and Battlefield 3, in my humble opinion, is much better than Modern Warfare 3 despite some of its letdowns. How can they not win anything at all?
