Another reason why you should buy a second-hand Wii U - get previously purchased games for free

In what seems to be a new discovery of one of the many 'features' in Nintendo's Wii U, reports are suggesting that any used Wii U with previously bought games will be able to be redownloaded by second-hand owners, even after the console has been reformatted and all old accounts wiped off the system.
This piece of information came about when a member on NeoGAF claimed that after picking up the console, he found himself with entirely free access to some previously-bought games Trine 2 and Nano Assault Neo.
While he certainly is lucky, how this actually worked is presumably due to the Nintendo Network ID tie-in with the console itself. Any purchased games with the Network ID will then also be linked with the console, and for the record this is normal. But what's mind-boggling here is how even after any old Nintendo Network ID has been wiped off, and new IDs used on the reformatted console, previous purchased games somehow seem to have remain in the system's registers.

GameOn Malaysia announces availability of the Nintendo Wii U Deluxe and Basic Set

Positioned as Malaysia's premier online video game store, GameOn has recently announced that they have started selling both the Wii U Deluxe and Basic Set in Malaysia, though limited stocks are only available. However, it is important to note that Nintendo has not officially release its latest console in Malaysia or Singapore, and neither in their regional base Hong Kong.
Instead, GameOn has imported their stock from the US (according to their website) and will be selling the Wii U Deluxe and Basic set at RM1599 and RM1399 respectively, both with a 1 year limited warranty.
The Wii U Basic set includes a white coloured 8GB-storage console, a GamePad and the necessary adaptors, cables and sensors. While the Deluxe set, as its name suggests, offers a higher-end, black coloured bundle of a 32GB-storage console, the GamePad, other necessary acessories and additional Wii U stands together with a Nintendo Land video game.

Wii U launches with more than 400,000 units sold

Nintendo's Wii U is the company's big leap into the next-gen consoles era. Microsoft and Sony has yet to announce their future consoles so Nintendo being the first player in the market, should probably have the edge.
Last week marked Wii U's launch in the United States ahead of everyone else in the world and in its first week of availability, many reports have said that the console has been quickly sold out, or at the very least 'is selling fast'. Though that is nice to hear, it is important to note that product availability was comparably limited to the original Wii back in 2006.
Nevertheless, in an interview about the Wii U North American launch, Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo of America announced that during its launch week, the console has already successfully sold more than 400,000 units via retailers and its Nintendo stores, continuing to express, "the Wii U is effectively sold out at retail ...we are gratified by the consumer response."
The numbers could definitely be better but nevertheless well done Nintendo, now to watch for the global launch. And erm, that's including Malaysia, if you are seeing this, Nintendo.

[Wii U] Everything you must know about the Nintendo Network and Miiverse

The Wii U is Nintendo's next (gen) console and their primary effort to boost sales, survive their financial crisis and to stay in the game with the 2 big console players. Though it carries the name 'Wii', it is in most parts largely different from the predecessor and this is particularly noticeable with the lack in motion controls. The Wii U, however, now focuses heavily on its online interface and this post will serve to point out the main must-knows of the systems.
There are three major highlights and they are the Nintendo Network, the Miiverse, and also the Internet Explorer. The first thing you'll need to understand is the difference in your Nintendo Network ID and your user account. Afterall, both of the terms used suggests very similar functions, and it is there that I feel Nintendo could have done better (scroll below also for a video by Nintendo explaining the differences). Basically, your user account will be your log-in for your Mii character, a unique identification from other users on the system. The Nintendo Network ID, on the other hand, is the main ID to control the console.
First thought of the the Nintendo Network would be Nintendo's effort to compete with Microsoft's Xbox Live and Sony's PSN, but going deeper into it and you'll find this unique ecosystem of gamers actually interacting; or in their term, the Miiverse.
The Miiverse is more than just adding friends or barbie-dolling your character, it is about the sharing and the discussion between gamers worldwide together on one ecosystem. It allows gamers to help one another by posting their personal tips on getting through a level, or similarly for anyone to ask for help at any certain level in the game. Basically, it is like a forum integrated live in a game and this idea, though it does have its loopholes, will seem to prove very useful and definitely interesting to test out.
Nintendo does their part in detailing what you need to know as well:
*The Wii U has been released in the US, will be launching on the 30th in Australia, but no information have been released for Malaysia.

However, that is only our mere prediction, whether or not it comes true, we can only find out.

Nintendo Will Globally Launch Wii U By End of 2012

Nintendo's Wii U was first unveiled last year, receiving both positive and negative feedbacks. The structure on how the family console function wasn't really clear at first and the many additions/accessories of it didn't help either. It was expected that the new home console would start shipping this year, but it was only confirmed recently when Nintendo's CEO Satoru Iwata announced that they will assure the Wii U to be available globally during the holiday season (around November and December).
