Lenovo unveils three Android IdeaTab tablets

During the recent MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2013, Lenovo announced a new line-up of Android-powered tablets comprising two 7in devices IdeaTab A1000 and A3000, and one full-fledged 10in tablet the IdeaTab S6000.

Making the best out of its 7in portability, both the A1000 and A3000 is designed to bring both performance and its form factor together. At the starting range would be the A1000, a worthy choice for first-time tablet owners especially those who appreciates decent sound quality. Packed with a Dolby Digital Plus sound system and a basic storage of 16GB, the A1000 looks to find a space as your entertainment and lifestyle "pocket studio".

But for the full performance of a tablet in a 7in form, the A3000 should do the job with its highly-competitive specs in regards to other similar-sized tablets in the market now. Powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and up to 64GB worth of extendable memory, it is optimised for the complete tablet user experience and should run fluidly (based on specs). But what may be most appealing would probably be its portability weighing at less than 340g.

Debuted as Lenovo's first Android tablet to compete with the other 'bigger boys' in the market, the IdeaTab S6000, at first glance, looks extremely sleek despite its obvious similarities. This is a full-fledged 10.1' tablet powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, up to 8 hours of battery life, integrated with a micro HDMI port and displays a steady 1280X800 resolution.

All 3 IdeaTabs will be available around May/June while individual country pricings will be announced closer to launch date. Personally, I'm a sticker to 10.1's instead of of 7'in tablets, but what about you?

Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 confirmed for end of November Australian release

Though announced more than a month ago, the actual product have yet to reach public market and even after the official Windows Phone 8 event, Nokia doesn't seem too sure about release dates yet. This is one of the biggest obstacles from allowing Nokia to regain market share (I believe and hope they will) as availability dates and pricings are actually essential influences on our decisions.

But this issue is settled.

Along with announcements in other parts of the world, Nokia Australia has recently confirmed when it's flagship Lumia 920, along with it's mid-range counterpart Lumia 820, will hit the land down under. However, again, it was only announced as "from the end of November" with no exact dates were given. I suppose only time will tell in hopes that as each day passes, an exact date will be announced before more potential buyers make a decision to get another phone.

That said, the Lumia 920 will only be available exclusively from Telstra at A$829, in black, white, red and yellow (where's the cyan?) while the Lumia 820 will be retailing at A$649 from Vodafone, Optus and other leading retailers. Pre-orders for the Lumia 920 from Telstra is expected to start this week (4 November). Meanwhile, be notified at http://www.telstra.com.au/nokia.

I can honestly say that with my cyan Lumia 900 in hand, I can't wait to try my hands on the Lumia 920 and experience first hand the changes.

White Nokia Lumia 800 Available in Malaysia Now

The Nokia Lumia 800, together with its lower-ranged counterpart 710, was released in Malaysia about two months back. However, Nokia only offered three colours then: black, cyan (blue), and magenta (pinkish-red), but promised that its white version would still come to Malaysia. Well, the day has finally come.

Not really sure about the other papers but if you subscribe to The Star, Nokia advertised the announcement on today's (6 April 2012) Star 2/R.AGE section, Page 5.

The White version of the Nokia Lumia 800 will be available at all authorized Nokia Store in Malaysia. And now that the White Lumia 800 is released, I might just change my mind on getting it, rather than the Cyan one. Any suggestions?

HTC One Series Set To Launch in Malaysia: 2nd of April

First introduced in Barcelona during the Mobile World Congress 2012, the HTC One series has rather rebranded the HTC smartphone line up which is expected to be even stronger and competitive among the increasingly-crowded smartphone market; some, even offered them the name of "legendary". And if you would like to be one of the first to experience HTC's latest, come 2nd of April, Monday, be sure to visit it's official Malaysian launch in Pavillion, KL.

The all-new HTC One series consists of three smartphones. First up in line is its flagship model, the HTC One X offering a 4.7-inch, quad core Tegra 3-powered beast encased in a polycarbonate white shell. It runs on the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwhich OS along with HTC's very own HTC Sense 4.0. Besides being the first quad-core HTC smartphone, it is also integrated with a vastly improved camera technology, named as the Image Sense which is supposedly powerful enough to take photos in under 0.7 seconds!

Next up is the HTC One V, branded as the "essential smartphone" which is the most affordable of all. The HTC One V sports a simple design with a 3.6-inch screen, runs on a 1GHz processorand a 5-megapixel camera which is suitably more than enough.

Last but not least, is the HTC One S which is actually the mid-ranged smartphone but judging from teasers of some telco companies, it seems that we'll be missing the device in Malaysia. Nothing much to worry though especially since the One X and V will make its way here.

What Would My 3D World be with LG Optimus 3D?

Imagine a world of 3D right from your smartphone itself, without glasses at all - images and videos, actions and movements emerging out from the phone into your vision and surroundings. But all of those could only be a fantasy now isn't it? After all, 3D is only in cinemas or at the very most equipped in some really, really expensive TV, but in smartphones, no way.

You got that all wrong. 3D is possible on smartphones and LG's Optimus 3D is one of the earliest phones employing the latest technology. Personally, I have always been a fan of 3D and it being on a smartphone would really enhance the overall feel. Yes, images will pop-out, Avatar will soar high like it was in a cinema (maybe, I never liked watching movies on phones anyway) but one of the key things of 3D, which many people miss out, is for gaming. But no, I'm not talking about 3D Angry Birds or 3D Cut the Rope, I'm talking about the so-called 'hardcore' games like Shadow Gun and Dead Space.

3D has a pretty big impact on gaming if you ask me. It ultimately changes the way you experience the game as a whole, especially since you are immediately absorbed into the world; and with games like Dead Space, you will actually feel as if you are the protagonist itself. The technology arguably revolutionises the way video games are played and experienced, and coupled with such portability and ease, LG's Optimus 3D would provide a suitable platform for a hardcore gamer-on-the-go like me.

We all know the yellow Digi man. He's pretty much a stalker isn't he? Follows you everywhere, appearing on your television and the radio every once in a while...and has even became synonymous with Digi itself. But that's a good thing. Recently, Google unveiled its Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update while Samsung Galaxy Nexus was the first, and up till now the only phone to be integrated with it. If you ask me, this update is extremely important for Android smartphones as the last I remembered was the mere 2.3 something Gingerbread - which is totally outdated among its rivals.

Iris, the Siri of Android Unveiled

If you are observant enough, you would notice that Iris, an acronym of "Intelligent Rival Imitator of Siri", is spelled in reverse of Siri. But in actual, Iris is exactly like Siri, a voice-recognition software system specially crafted which supposedly aims to become our new generation of personal assistants.
