Guys, I know I've been blogging about Skyrim again and again these days - from reviews to tips and secrets - but just bare with me for this very last post, for Skyrim is 2011's Game of the Year, literally and figuratively. It's an awesome game, no doubt about that. Therefore, I find that it's only apt if I conclude the year with a dedicated post for all the insanely-crazy, simple, yet immensely-powerful moments which defines what Skyrim is all about.
1)He got skills!
Skyrim is a world of endless possibilities where anything can be possible - this will only mean that some crazy, crazy stuff will happen and this is simply one of the many examples, something more than a headshot.
Sometimes, the plain old game can be rather dull after a while. But when that time comes, just get online, search for some interesting mods and your Skyrim world can be really, really different - and not to mention, extremely retarded.
Seriously check this out man, that is one extremely talented, beautifully-pieced video of Skryim's main theme song, on violin classico.
4)Fus Ro Dah
"Fus Ro Dah" itself is almost synonymous when it comes to videos of Skyrim, where people sync the main theme song of the game with real-life-moments, just take a look (and max your volume if you may) and you'll see what I mean.
5)I took an arrow to the knee
Likewise, "I took an arrow to the knee", a joke inspired by Skyrim of course (which I don't really understand lol), has become largely popular. The best remix ever.

6)'Tis the season to be jolly!
Oh yes, when it comes to Christmas, it's all about decorations, gifts, and of course, lightings! And from this video, it's quite apparent that Skyrim has largely influenced his Christmas.

Damn the temptation. My final exam trials are just a week away and this comes up? It's simply too irresistible. Zombified aliens? Or more precisely, hordes of decapitated-but-perfectly-fine Necromorphs? Bring it on baby! But, wait a minute, didn't I just did that few years ago? And at the start of the year again (Dead Space 2)? Yes, but that was on the PC (or PS3/Xbox 360) and now, it's on the Android - see the link there? Aliens...android...dead space...awesomeness. Well, most mainstream games fail to do well on the mobile device due to the different controls, graphics, gameplay, bla bla bla...they're all simply excuses. Because, according to the reviews from users, as well as blogs, "Dead Space plays well. Incredibly well" according to Android Central, while Dave commented that it was "an absolutely stunning achievement" on the Android Market. Damn the temptation, again.
Here's a trailer but I reckon you are better off playing the game.
Get your copy from the Android Market here for $7.17 (RM21.50). Cheers!
Dead Space is now on the App Store!

Save, save and save!
This is the most basic, yet extremely essential, simple action that you must get used to. After whatever you are doing, wherever you are and whenever it is, save before you proceed. This simple act is especially important during dungeon quests. After every 'horde' of enemies, after every turn (maybe not THAT extreme), SAVE. You wouldn't want to go all the way to the end, only to die under the final 'boss', would you?
Don't be such a stingy dude, everytime you see a hobo roaming around the town, offer him a buck. Why? Because that simple action, that one buck which costs you nothing at all, gives you a bonus to sell your items at a much higher price. 1 Buck for 50? Definitely worth it. (:
It's okay if you are too lazy to explore all of Skyrim by foot. Find a carriage just outside a town and instantly travel to the town you want. Do note that only larger towns are available though.

If you were christmas shopping or simply hanging out around the KLCC area last weekend, it would be hard for you to miss the large presence of those visiting the on-going Comic Fiesta which was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, now it its 10th year. Seriously, coloured wigs, striking costumes, intricately-designed props - they were everywhere!
I've got to admit I'm not a massive fan of ACG (animation, comics and games), and I was only covering the event for The Star's youth section, R.AGE. You see, I only read Naruto mangas (which I gave up halfway) and only watched some animes - like super infrequently. However, covering the event gave me a whole new perception and a whole lot of insight into this industry, and how many people are actually that obsessed with it. And for that, I respect them.

Anyway, not all the games will remain at the discounted price as some are special daily deals. Therefore, if the games you want are not cheap enough, you may want to check again the next day. Who knows, you may get it at 75% after one week! (:
At the same time, a campaign will be run simultaneously where you will stand a chance to get every single game on Steam for free - but that of course it's the grand prize. Basically, "The Great Gift Pile" gives you six objectives where you will need to easily complete it. Then, you will be automatically rewarded with a 'gift' or a 'coal'. Yes, a coal. But, the twist is that although it sounds stupid and useless, it can be used to 'craft' into a 'gift', or you can save it and the more you have, the better your chances are to win that ultimate prize.
Well, what are you waiting for, get yours now here. Happy holidays and Merry Christmas! :D

Well, well, well, after about 2 months since Mark Zuckerberg's first announcement, and after facing a lawsuit against timeline.com, Facebook has finally revamped its design on our profiles - which will be now known as timelines. And as what it is called, Facebook will break down your profile in terms of months and years (up till your date of birth but that section will really has nothing much unless you had a Facebook account since birth!). So basically, you can now easily track your own profile, as well as (stalking) others for each year. Let's say, I can go to 2009 and see what I did and what happened during the year. Who I 'friended'? Where did I go? My statuses? Check.
So is this, yet another change on Facebook, for the better or for the worse? First off, I do believe that the design is improved, especially the 'cover' photo on your profile which enhances the 'first impression'. However, on the timeline, which tracks past events easily, may or may not be better. I don't know, what do you think?
Note: You can get your timeline here.

Spike TV's annual Video Game Awards (VGA) has recently ended and the winners of 2011 have also been announced. Portal 2, as we know it, is indisputably one amazing, amazing game of puzzles and interesting challenges unique to others. True to its wonderful predecessor Portal, the second episode bounces away with the most awards, some including Best PC Game and Best Multiplayer. Batman: Arkham City, another big winner (surprisingly), takes away 4 titles including Best Action Adventure, Best Xbox 360, Best Adapted and The Joker as Character of the Year!
However, the ultimate winner who worthily earned the trophy of 2011's Game of the Year as well as Best RPG was none other than Skyrim. I understand that this award can be quite controversial as many believe that Portal 2 should be the one. Both games are perfectly accomplished and both equally deserve the title. However, Portal 2's campaign is, let's admit it, rather too short especially compared to Skyrim, which can easily be hooked on for days and weeks and months. That, I think is the main differential factor. I don't know, what do you think?
Also, what was surprising was that Battlefield 3 and Fifa 12, both from EA, didn't win anything at all! Wow, Fifa 12 was a wonderful enhancement and Battlefield 3, in my humble opinion, is much better than Modern Warfare 3 despite some of its letdowns. How can they not win anything at all?

Fancy slaying some dragons? Tomb robbing the undeads? Joining the thief's guild while destroying everything as a black sorcerer? Being a werewolf and even a vampire (no, not Twilight)? Then you will surely, if not obsessionally fall in love with Skyrim in an endless adventure around the carefully-crafted, Scandinavian-inspired land.
First Impression? Holy mama WOOWW!
From the start, Skyrim offers an absolutely beautiful world, weaving together nature and war, history and fantasy. Flora and fauna energises the land with serenity while creatures and corpses heighten up the stakes while you unleash your skills as a dragonborn - someone who has the soul and blood of a dragon, with the ability to speak in the ancient dragon tongue. But before you think that Skyrim is just another RPG game with extraordinary visuals, think again.

Everyone's using Instagram now. The recent creation - simple, yet ingenious - has arguably revolutionised modern photography as Instagram-enhanced-then-shared-photos are gaining speed and popularity, circling among a wide audience with its beautiful shades and interesting filter effects. Coupled with the rising quality of phone cameras, Instagram allows users - ordinary non-experts, to take extraordinary photos. To some extent, which is becoming more common, produces photos better than DSLRs.
Unfortunately, the immensely popular app was only available on the iOS and being an Android user, I have always wanted to find a similar app on the Android Market but most of them lack many essential features. However, now, CEO Kevin Systrom has officially announced that the team are finally working on bringing the app onto the Android platform. In just one year, Instagram had reached a whopping 50 million users and following the launch on Android, the team wishes to expand its reach. Another 50 Million in half a year? Most likely.
Some of the best photos I've seen using Instagram. Wow!

You should be able to identify that Battlefield 3 is mainly based in the Middle East.
The days spent on Battlefield 3 have only served to remind me how much I love adventure RPGs (role-playing games). The confinement, especially in Battlefield 3, is apparent and the linearity of its campaign is simply a letdown from its successfully marketed hype. And after giving up halfway through the campaign, I realized how awesome games like Assassin’s Creed and Skyrim is, and how, let’s put it this way, Battlefield 3 is just not good enough.

Screenshot from Maxis.com.my, to "register your interest" (:
Fancy an iPhone 4S? Especially since Christmas is just around the corner? Good news is that the device is finally coming to Malaysian shores, after erm...one a half months (as usual in Malaysia). Maxis has announced that, being the first service provider to do so, they will be launching the iPhone 4s here on the 16 of December. Mean while, you can register your interest here (note that this is not pre-ordering) although prices are only expected to be revealed on the launch date.
